Our "holiday" is officially over & therefore I am back to regular blogging! We had a fantastic two-weeks. While we decided to stay in England for our holiday this year, we manage to see a LOT of this gorgeous country and have loads of fun day trips.
So what all did we do?
- Tried out Chessington's World of Adventures
- Rode bikes through the New Forest
- Explored the White Cliffs of Dover
- Climbed the ruins of Corfe Castle
- Went to literally the windiest beach I've ever been to my entire life
- BOUGHT TWO NEW FURRY ADDITIONS TO OUR LITTLE FAMILY! (Stay tuned for pictures!) (But don't get too excited... they aren't coming home until Sept 10th)
- Hunted for fossils along the Dorest coastline (aka the "Jurassic" Coast)
- Had a dessert bake-off
- Went swimming at the Aquadrome
- Day trip to London
- Discovered the wonder that is Henley-on-Thames
- Had L.I.T.E.R.A.L.L.Y the best chips I've ever had in my ENTIRE life (french fries for you, yanks)
- Visited Bath & had tea at the Pump Room (and pretended in my head that I was Jane Austen in a gorgeous gown.)
- etc, etc, etc...
I really had intentions to blog at night last week but I was just having too much fun with the hubs & step-daughter. Now that she's at Girl Guide's camp/back home & PB is back at work I'm going to be attacking our house... annnnndddd employers in London. I've been given the month off by my generous husband but I think this whole "OMGIDON'THAVEAJOBANDIT'SSOFUN!" is going to wear off soon. Like. In an hour. or 2. I was GOING to start job hunting Sept 1st but I'm already getting antsy, so I'm going to be updating my resume and emailing some contacts I have in the city this week. Hopefully I'll be able to plan some coffee's/informal interviews for next week and get the employment ball rolling. It has become obvious to everyone that I have the inability to be jobless without going stir crazy.
However, for now? I'm going to go bake an apple crumble. I have already been to the gym this morning (and you'd all be impressed by the amount of sweat I produced. Impressive & disgusting aalllll at the same time), done 2 loads of laundry, made the hubs breakfast & lunch, planned our meals for the week and bought a few veggies. After my apple crumble? The vacuum cleaner & I have a date with this awful seagrass carpet.
Now.
Tell me fun stories.
After all... this lady of leisure needs something to do... other than clean... stare at the walls... or, god forbid, talk to herself.
