Can't Hardly Weight!

I have to give a big shout out to Preppy 101 at All Things Southern & Preppy for introducing me to what I think will help me achieve my goal weight or close to it by the time my wedding comes around and that is the health tracker at www.prevention.com. If you haven't checked out her blog, then pop on over and have a look - she's great!

This thing is pretty much idiot proof! You can set your weight goal on the date you hope to achieve it by pounds and weight based on how many calories you burn a day with work, daily chores, activities and excercise (you can use tools on it to calculate these as well) and it gives you how many calories you can eat each day! It's genius. I won't lie - it is time consuming, but I like to think of it as interactive!

By signing up for this, I found out that while I thought I was eating really well (I eat better than most of my thinner peers!) I actually eat double the amount of calories I should - I'm embarrassed to say the number, but let's just say, my regular calorie count has been BAD BAD BAD and it's no wonder I'm a fatty! The good news is that my lifestyle does include burning a lot of calories on most days, so by continuing what I normally do and maybe adding a little more workout and activity I can reach my goal weight in just 23 weeks by cutting some calories here and there. I guess the exciting thing is that I now think the impossible task of dropping 54 pounds by June is possible and I know how to do it. I really hope it works!

I have a lot of friends who've been successful with weight watchers and this seems a little bit similar. You have a limit and you can use it however you like, but you need to stick to it. This is a boundary that I think I can respect and observe so I'm excited!!!
