A couple of nights ago, M & I went to Blockbuster for a few flicks. We've gotten through 2 of the 3 we rented and we have one more to watch tonight.
If you haven't seen Brideshead Revisited, you must! Emma Thompson gives a tour de force performance - she's brilliant!!! Besides that, filmed at historic Howard Castle in Yorkshire, England, this is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen.
I just love period films - they're so beautiful and a great way to escape from the day to day life we live in now!!!
The lead roles are played by three amazing up and coming actors, Matthew Goode (Chasing Liberty and Matchpoint), Haley Atwell (The Dutchess) and Ben Wishaw (I'm Not There and Perfume), whom I think is an amazing young actor!
Annie Hathaway is a household favorite for us! We just love her so we had to rent Rachel Getting Married to see her Oscar nominated performance as Kim, an ex-junkie attending her sister's wedding straight out of rehab.

This movie is HARD to watch - Hathaway is amazing, don't get me wrong! And she's surrounded by other amazing actors including Rosemarie DeWitt and Bill Irwin. But the constant music and chaos in the film makes you uncomfortable, as I imagine was intended. I felt so frustrated watching this film that I wanted to scream - though hard to watch, it's undeniably an AMAZING film!
You won't recognize Anne Hathaway in this movie - she is full on acting with every inch of her body and soul. She's not the Princess Diaries little girl anymore. She's truly a force to be reckoned with now and I can't wait to see her next movie!!!
We're having a relaxing Saturday morning right now, but soon enough we'll have to get to work on wedding plans. I'm so relieved to have some time to chill this weekend after a hard week at work! What are you lovelies doing this weekend?!
