Primping Time!

I woke up bright and early Sunday morning to find my bff/bridesmaid CEG and cousin/bridesmaid CCC both dead asleep. I didn't want to bother them so I ventured out to Starbucks nearby for a morning bun (9 WW pts but TOTALLY worth every dang one), fruit cup and a tea. I sat and enjoyed the quiet morning and did some exciting people watching (read many 'walks of shame' from the bar crawl the night before... Sooo fun to watch!) Then I took a little walk and headed back in. My girlies were up then and we chatted and lazed around until it was time to pick up my lil' Hopsy from the airport. We grabbed my mom's bff C and Hops and headed back to the Ritz. Hopsy headed off to a bloggers brunch with BLC, which I was heartbroken to miss, and I waited for my hair/makeup people.

I had a hair and makeup trial run in October at The Modern Salon in Charlotte and had a TERRIBLE experience. The stylist was incompetent, my hair was falling out immediately after it was done and my makeup made me look like a 'street walker' to put it mildly. I asked Angela for some suggestions for hair/makeup in Charlotte and knew I'd have to book on a whim and hope it worked out! She gave me 3 hair/makeup people. Two of them would not respond to emails at all. I literally emailed one girl like 12 times and heard nothing. Then I emailed the last girl on the list, Jamie Svay and within 20 minutes I was on the phone talking to her! I told her what I was thinking of and she said she'd email me pictures and to tell her if she was on target or not. She sent about 5 pics of celebrities and she was DEAD on with what I wanted! I booked her immediately. I was nervous because there was no trial run... Just two crossed fingers and a prayer that she would be as good as I hoped. She ended up being AMAZING!

I have really difficult hair. It's very coarse, very thick and naturally very curly. It's obvious from most of my blog pictures, but I really prefer my hair straight. I straightened my own hair the night before for the rehearsal and to let it dirty up for a day and then she took over the next day. My hair and makeup were LITERALLY my favorite part of the entire day. She was AMAZING! I can't tell you how much I LOVED my hair and makeup. I'm still waiting to get the professional photos (Should be by FRIDAY!), but here are some I took while we were getting ready... I'll share the prof pictures as soon as I get them!

*Law school BFFs & Me... They gave me the cute hoodie that I was wearing! It said "The Future Mrs" on the front and had a blinged out "Bride" on the back! I wore it en route to Maui too! Loved it!*

Mama & her BFF C made me this little goodie bag fun of wedding day essentials. I especially LOVED the ribbon! (GO HEELS!) It had allllll sorts of goodies. I'll give a run down of what was in it later in the week. I'm going to make one for EVERY bride I know!

While we were getting ready two of my groomsmen came upstairs with a box for me from PB. Apparently when I jokingly told him that ALL american men buy their brides a wedding day gift he took me seriously! I knew he had gotten me something but I was BLOWN AWAY when I opened it.

There may or may not have been tears.

The bag I've been dying for since last summer!

Thank goodness I had the sense to buy him a little present. I gave him some Bleu de Chanel cologne. Have y'all smelled it?? PB will never be wearing anything else because I'm now hooked on it. Seriously. I almost bought him another bottle at the airport just in case :)

Please be patient and I'll share more getting ready pictures as soon as I get the disc from my photographer (which hopefully will be by Friday!) We'll do one more getting ready post and theeennnn the ceremony!

Hope I'm not boring you all already!
