Last night M & I ordered all the candy for our candy buffet. If you're doing a candy buffet for an event or wedding in the future, there are GREAT deals on bulk candy online and you can order online and you can shop by color! Maybe you all know this already, but it never occurred to me until I decided to embark on this task... it's great for parties!!!
We already purchased 11 glass/crystal containers in various sizes including apothecary jars, standard candy dishes, and oversized martini glasses and snifters! Each container will have a big fat fluffy bow made from mostly polka dot grossgrain ribbon or tull! We bought some pink fabric to cover a board and some big whimsical colorful foam letters to put on it spelling CANDY. There will also be old fashioned candy scoops where needed and pink or purple polka dotted Chinese take out containers for the guests to fill with goodies!
I'm really looking forward to this coming together as it was one of the first things I wanted for the wedding - I love the idea of a Willy Wonka-esque candy buffet so much, I nearly did a candy themed wedding but M quickly convinced me that would be childish and tacky. Here's what we ordered...
This is the exact color mix of personalized M&M's we ordered. They will say Ashley & Marc on the back!!!
Watermelon jelly slices.
Grape jelly slices.
This is one of my fave choices and we splurged on these - 10lb bulk box of A&W Cream Soda Jelly Belly beans!!! Will bring the old fashioned soda shop feel to our candy bar!
White rock candy crystal swizzle sticks.
Grape striped old fashioned candy sticks.
Good & Plenty - not bad, but not my favorite, however they're cheap and the colors are perfect for our buffet!!!
Blackberry old fashioned candy sticks.
Haribo pink grapefruit sour jelly bites.
We shied away from chocolate too much because of shipping & melting issues. We also want to keep our colors vibrant. I can't wait to see it all put together! I also can't wait to eat it!!!
What do y'all think? Do you think I have enough options? There should be plenty in quantity since most of these come in either 5 or 10 lbs. bulk packages. Opinions, thoughts, concerns, suggestions???
xoxo,
Pink Julep!
