While in Cincinnati, I had my first viewings of Lilly Pulitzer. First I headed to a TJ Maxx and they had some Lilly alright - I have to say, I wouldn't have worn a single stitch of it if they were the last clothes on earth, but I decided to wait and check out what they had at the Dillards 50th Anniversary Lilly Jubilee event and I snapped some photos for you gals!
They had vintage displays everywhere - unfortunately I had limited time and couldn't focus and take photos of everything... I also hardly saw anything for sale - mostly displays. And i would hardly call it an event - maybe I got there too late and missed all the Lilly Lovers decked out in their garb...
I must say, I have massive respect for this brand and its creator, the woman who dared to walk barefoot down the streets of Palm Beach! However, I will probably never wear neon orange pants with hot pink crabs all over them... just not my style. I admire the collectors out there and some of the Lilly clothes, shoes and accessories are cute. I also have to say that all of you post your photos and you look just beautiful - makes me want to throw down my visa and buy a Lilly dress too! But they just aren't my style for the most part and don't look good on me... maybe some day! I actually fell in love with a beautiful pair of flats, but not $375 worth of love - that's a lot for a pair of silly ole flats... it's not like they're Manolos or Louboutins!
