Registry Ideas

M & I live on Grand Cayman as many of you know, but we're getting married in Cincinnati, OH since its a good point between most of my family and near an airport - with that said, we can't bring gifts to the island because of flight regulations and customs restrictions, not to mention the potential packing disaster and we don't really need anything since most rentals in Cayman are fully furnished and we aren't buying here - so when thinking about a registry we were totally stumped!!!

I knew we had to do something because even if you ask people not to get you gifts, somebody will show up with a big bulky Osterizer that you can't return in time before leaving for the honeymoon and then it hit me! I wanted to take our honeymoon at Walt Disney World - Marc was skeptical because he's never been and doesn't realize the full potential of "the happiest place on earth." But it became easier to convince him once I remembered that Disney World has a honeymoon registry! It's a GENIUS idea that can be done on its own or with other registries as well and its the perfect way to lead people toward something you're really going to use - also, you can save them the hassle of gift wrap or even shopping for that matter cause its all online! Once I showed him that you can register for golf lessons and jet skis, he was totally in!!!

Anyway, its a great idea and you can register for nearly everywhere these days - its a great way to let your friends and family help you out with things on your honeymoon that you'd really like to do, but might not be able to afford or justify in your budget like a helicopter ride, a fancy dinner or renting scooters to tour the city. Here are a couple of sites I've seen that look pretty good:

Some examples of things we registered for are a couples massage in our room, dinner at a nice restaurant, a horse-drawn carriage ride, a photo session in the Magic Kingdom, a boat ride, bride and groom Mickey & Minnie ears, jet ski rentals and so many other cool things to add to our special week! And we even get these really cute printable cards to include in our invitations! Anyway, its unorthodox, but I'm really pleased with our choice and thought it was pretty clever and cute and just wanted to share with y'all!

xoxo,
Pink Julep
