I was thinking in the shower today when I grabbed my face wash that there are are a few odd products that I have been using for YEARS!!! So I thought I would share them with you! I LOVE trying new products all the time, but there are a few that I always go back to either permanently or at least every once in a while.
1. St. Ives Apricot Scrub - this is an excellent exfoliator that you can get at any drug store, walmart or pretty much anywhere - I can buy it in bulk on the island which is AWESOME! The bonus is - the price is right! It's cheap but effective and doesn't irritate my skin - I started using this when I was a little girl. I used to sneak into my mom's bathroom when she was outside or napping or whatever and use her products... I had no idea that I was doing such a nice thing for my skin!
#2. I have been using Merle Norman Luxiva pressed powder in "Ultra Cream" since I was about 13 years old - so nearly 15 years now! I've tried Clinique, Laura Mercier, Lancome, everything, but nothing is ever as good as this stuff! So good that when I lived in Miami and NYC I had my mother ship it to me every 2 or 3 months! I'm starting to run out now and I can't order it online - will definitely buy this in bulk when I go to the states in the spring, but in the meantime, can anyone recommend a really great foundation and powder they like????
#3 Noxema - not much to say about this one except that it's just awesome and I love it! Not only that, but it controls my acne, feels nice when you massage it on your face, and the menthol wakes you up in the morning when your sleepy!
#4 Biosilk Silk Therapy Oil - I've been using this for at least 15 years as well. My hair isn't quite curly, but its definitely not straight and I get a lot of frizz and flyaways if I'm not careful - this helps to tame it, makes it soft and its actually really good for your hair and your skin!!! Sometimes when I'm feeling a little dry skin, I use this as well, especially on elbows and after I get a sunburn which I try to avoid but sometimes just happens.
#5 C.O. Bigelow Metho Lip Shine - A girlfriend of mine turned me onto this a couple of years ago. She put this and some other goodies in monogrammed make-up bags as a bridesmaids gift and I became instantly addicted!!! I now have at least 3 tubes of every color at all times and I have started exploring the other C.O. Bigelow products, which have all been pretty good for the most part! They have also started doing compacts with lipglosses that are a little more pigment saturated and lipsticks as well - all great! LOVE LOVE LOVE Bigelow Lips!!! Bonus - it freshens your breath too!!!
