Hi, sweet friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I can honestly say that I did absolutely nothing (except for church on Sunday). Millie and I hung around the house just enjoying each other's company, watching movies, cleaning, painting nails, and getting ready for the week ahead. It was positively delightful! I often forget the wonderful feeling of doing nothing. Over the past two years, I haven't been able to enjoy much me-time, school consumed most of my down time. This weekend proved how thankful I am to be finished with graduate school and now be able to relish in the little moments at home.

{I found the perfect bucket to display some of my New Orleans goodies. It's a fantastic addition to my office space, and quite the conversation piece.}

{For the past two weeks I've been toting around this new Kate Spade set that my mama so kindly purchased for me on our beach getaway. The subtle color blocking is perfect for spring and summer.}

{I also found this fantastic serving platter and appetizer plates in the 'Cocktails, Anyone?' pattern at the Kate Spade outlet. This is possibly my favorite purchase from the trip. Now I just need you all over for a party!}

{My new Tyler Candle in the 'Dolce Vita' scent is filling my house with the most delicious aroma.}

{I've been admiring the prints and textures of these new tops that are dying to be slipped on with long skirts and wedges. (via Anthropologie and Karen Kane) }

{My Lilly Pulitzer Summer 2011 catalog came in the mail on Friday. Part of my weekend was spent drooling over and highlighting pieces that must be added to my collection.}

{I think I finally created the perfect little arrangement for some of my favorite scents (the others sit on my dresser). There's something so feminine about putting your perfumes on display.}

{Do you put the tags that come on your purchases on display? The Kate Spade insert in my new bag and those charming Lilly tags were too pretty to toss.}

{I know spring is here and summer is just around the corner when I change my nail color every week. This week it's OPI 'Shorts Story'- the brightest pink ever without being neon.}

{I'm so looking forward to tying this pretty new scarf on an old bag this summer to spice things up a bit!}

{I finally created an ideal spot for showcasing some of my favorite bracelets. It's amazing what a fun display can do for your morning routine.}

. . . hello! was a {most luxurious} weekend for slowing things down, for strong coffee in gold-dipped french presses and the financial times on saturday morning, for late-night films sitting close and buttery croissants on sunday morning, for walks in the rain and waffle cones with scoops of mango and pralines & cream, and for time to breathe in every last beautiful moment, as if it would never end . . .

Happy Tuesday, loves!

Thank you so much for the sweet comments yesterday for Miss Debby and on my post over at her place. We love bringing Brown Eyed Girl has Style to you each month and it makes me so happy to know you enjoy it as much as we do!

As promised, here are a few photo collages from my trip last week. We had the most lovely time! The weather was beautiful, for the most part. We were able to get a little bit of sunshine, and I managed to come back with a glow I didn't have before we left. We dined on fresh sea food, Hibachi Japanese, steaks at a local hot spot (don't let the website fool ya, the food is incredible!), New Orleans-inspired cuisine at Ruth's Chris, and of course early morning sweets from Krispy Kreme. We also managed to squeeze in some shopping at a few local boutiques, the Kate Spade and Coach outlets, Anthropologie, and Dillard's. I'm completely ready to tackle my spring and summer wardrobe!

It's going to be a rainy Tuesday where I am. The most appropriate attire? Long black skirt, sheer peasant-y blouse and a stack of bangles up my arm. If the gypsies come to town, I'll fit right in!

Vacations Never Last Long Enough. . .

Hi, friends!

Just a quick post to say 'hello' and wish you a very happy weekend. I returned from vacation late last night, and I'm having trouble getting motivated today- no surprise, of course. I've tried to catch up a little and have failed miserably, thus far. This week's episode of Gossip Girl is waiting to be viewed, pictures need to be uploaded and emails need to be sent. . .

Next week is going to be an exciting one here as Debby will be posting on Monday, and I have two guest posts that I'm doing on Thursday and Friday. I'm actually excited to get back into the routine!

Here's a quick snapshot from my trip. I picked up my Kardashian-inspired floppy hat at a local swimwear boutique just before arriving at the beach. Full recap coming next week!

. . . while often most drawn to elegant roses at the flower markets, must confess, can never resist the full, ruffly blooms of peonies, especially the pink ones . . . what is your favourite flower?

. . . must confess, save for a few sunday afternoon trips a few summers ago, and only when lured with the romance of a picnic for two {complete with baguettes & brie and pink champagne}, am not often found on two wheels despite a fondness for bicycles . . . and yet, perhaps, this perfectly preppy kelly green handmade italian one, complete with a classic english leather seat and an ultra-chic essex scout bag {for holding fuchsia lipstick a few hairpins in the event of blustery spring breezes} may have just changed everything . . .

While I was browsing for this week's inspiration, I came across the gorgeous "Color Splash" summer campaign from Blanco over at Fashion Gone Rogue. There is nothing about this campaign that doesn't leave me longing for hot summer days, flowers in my hair, brightly colored high heels, and pops of tropical color! This entire campaign, including that gorgeous model, says 'happy summer' to me!
