Fall Fashion, No. 3 (Leopard Loafers)

(Images via 1, 2)

Leopard print.

In my world, it's classified as a 'neutral.' I wear leopard flats, bags, and other accessories anytime with just about anything. So you can imagine my excitement when the leopard loafer craze broke loose. I'm fairly certain that these shoes are just as versatile as your favorite ballet or pointy toe flats (even though at first glance it may not seem that way). This is one spotted bandwagon that I just can't resist jumping on!

Fall Fashion, No. 2 (The Cape)

(Images via 1, 2)

The cape. A fresh take on outerwear that makes my heart skip a beat. I've already added it to my Christmas wish list, but I'm thinking the wait may be just too much for me! I have a shorter version that looks great with my long, black leather gloves. However, these longer options below are just what I need for everyday winter wear- especially the Rachel Zoe with the collar and buttons, swoon!

Fall Fashion, No. 1

(Images via 1, 2)

***

As we're all following along with the spring fashion shows in New York, fall trends are just starting to pop up in our favorite stores, magazines, and blogs. For me, fall is kind of a strange season- sometimes it can be quite difficult to find the right combination of layers to last through the day. Regardless of the frustrations we face, there's no denying that fall fashions truly are fun. For some reason, I always get far more excited about pulling out my sweater dresses, tights, and boots than the barely-there pieces for spring and summer. The next few weeks I'm going to be sharing curated lists of some of my favorite fall trends- just to get us all in the spirit! My first in the series features sparkling sequins, dainty details, and one of my favorite prints- polka dots!

Welcome, Fall

(Images via 1, 2)

As everyone's September issues start popping up in their mailboxes, there's no denying that fall is certainly here. With the unofficial close of summer being celebrated this past weekend, I'm more ready than ever to kick off a new season. I started scrolling through my picture archives and came across a few that I thought were a perfect introduction to the soon-to-come chilly temperatures, cozy sweaters, spicy candles, and colorful pumpkins. And the one thing I can't wait for? Pulling out my stash of colorful and textured tights!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

(Images via 1 & 2)

***

After seeing this gorgeous post by Jamie, I couldn't resist being inspired to pull together my own Breakfast at Tiffany's. It seems that the very mention of the famous Audrey Hepburn film brings ladies everywhere into near squeals of delight. The LBD, the tiara, the romance, the sunglasses, New York City- it's enough to send any hopeless romantic into a daydream. The glitz and the glamour of Breakfast at Tiffany's has always inspired me to add classic pieces to my wardrobe, throw on some sparkle when I'm feeling a little blue, and embrace the little things that make life so sweet.

Back to School

(Images via 1 & 2)

***

I was always the kid who loved the first day of school. The new backpack, the pencil box full of fresh erasers and markers, the new Lisa Frank folders in my three-ring binder, and of course, my first day of school outfit. There was never a year (even into college) that I didn't get that back-to-school giddiness that came with searching for the perfect outfit. It seems ironic to me that I ended up pursuing a career that put me right back in that atmosphere. As most of you know, I work as a school counselor, and (believe it or not) I still can't resist the excitement that comes with putting together my first day of school ensemble. While I don't put quite as much effort into it as I did in middle school, the feeling still brings me pure happiness and joy. Here's how I would style a 'first day of school' look (and it's not too much of a miss from what I actually wore last week!)

What about you?

What do you think of this little number I put together?? I want to wear it tomorrow!

Oh, and f.y.i. that ensemble is definitely not in my budget, but I can track down affordable alternatives, right?

Friday's Fancies: Patriotic Pretty

(Images via pinterest and we heart it)

Happy Friday, friends!

Can you believe that it's already July?! Where did June go?! My goodness!

I'm linking up with my darling girl {av} for a very patriotic holiday weekend Friday's Fancies! Obviously, red, white & blue would usually be the color scheme for this particular post. However, as I was putting together my polyvore set, I was inspired to take a different route. The result is a darling blue and peach ensemble that I think is still tres perfect for a cookout, fireworks, parade, or stroll on the beach. I also found some very holiday-inspired images to accompany the outfit- sweet popsicles, pretty swimwear and colorful umbrellas, all boasting the gorgeous blue and peach color combination!

Enjoy!

I'm in love with the print mixing of this set- the classic sailor stripe of the top and the subtle polka dot pattern of the skirt. Accompanied with a pair of Banana Republic wedges and a Betsey Johnson Sea Charm Toggle bracelet- I'm completely smitten!

I would love it if you would hop over for just a second and 'like' my set on {av}'s blog! The set with the most 'likes' gets a little shout out on the next week's Friday's Fancies! Just look for my blue and peach set under the linky (number 30)!

Have a beautiful (long) weekend, friends!
