. . . as you know, a few weeks ago in the early morning light of late summer, stopped in for coffee & mimosas at the opening of tory burch's new flagship boutique on 797 madison avenue in new york, for a glimpse of the beautiful interiors spanning across five floors of a 19th century townhouse . . .

. . . and while browsing
the new collection and in between a glass of champagne for me, and a freshly brewed coffee from a gilded service for laily, had the chance to catch up with tory and ask her a few questions . . .

. . . the summer linen totes and wicker carrying cases have been all but stowed away for the season, and in their place, rich textures and soft leather -- like this wonderfully warm leather tote, perfect for bouquets from the flower markets, a half dozen custard tarts, a pair of glittery shoes, or anything else that the heart desires . . .

. . . and while we're on the topic of cases to pack, currently writing to you from an airport lounge, moments before boarding a plane that will jetting off to paris & lyon, but first, a quick hello, and by the time you read this message, shall be well off and away . . . and while the next days are yet unplanned, hope to have a few moments here and there to to share a few lovely things . . .

hope you're well & having a wonderful week so far, and à bientôt,

. . . hello, again! it's lovely to see you -- currently writing from a cosy seat in front of the fire, in a spectacular lodge of warm, time-worn wood, elegant floor coverings and tartan sofas, and our beautiful two-day stay here has come to a close on this blustery, sunny friday, and after spending yesterday afternoon sipping champagne in a stunning handcrafted mahogany boat [a hacker craft, for those who know their boats] in a favourite pair of wide-legged jeans and trench, was reminded of how nautical inspiration moves perfectly from hazy summer mornings to crisp autumn days . . .

{p.s.} regular posting shall resume next week & there is so much to tell you! x

{thoughts on a thursday & what are you reading?}

hello-header

cambridge-satchel-mink

. . . yesterday was one of those beautiful august days spent traipsing about town for meetings & appointments, visiting many, many design shops for research for an exciting new project, a café date and late lunch date, and best of all, a stop at the art gallery on the way home -- gilded frames and arches of colour, eighteenth century chandeliers and heels on herringbone floors . . .

......................................................................................................

. . . and now, a perfect time to get caught up before friday's day trip -- a million emails and mile-long to-do lists, and perhaps, if there is time, a few moments to catch up on a little reading, and despite the fact that only six months ago, there were over 156 million blogs in the world, have managed only to happen upon two new {lovely!} ones last week, and so, whether books or blogs, or anything in between, would love to know, what are you reading?

. . . this note began in a lovely little place just before dinner, a glass of wine and a dashing companion, and this weekend has been a dream-filled tumble of lovely things: friday evening dinner {a delectable shrimp & crab salad made of butter lettuce, chives, cherry tomatoes, and avocado}, terraces and {perfectly ghastly} eighties films, fluttery silk dresses and shimmery bare golden shoulders, morning walks and easy conversations, late, late nights and summer stars . . .

hope you've had an astonishingly wonderful weekend and that it was beautiful where you are, roséline xo

. . . books have been happily taking over since the beginning and there have been many, many {rather ambitious} attempts to corral the madness -- overflowing coffee tables and custom bookcases, built-ins and desk tops -- but not until happening upon this pale & pretty display of titles, has there been anything so perfectly chic . . .

. . . dashing out the door to meet a favourite cousin from out of town, but first, a quick hello, and as you may know, have been searching for inspiration for thursday's late lunch & meetings, and came across this lovely soft grey jersey wrap dress by marc for marc jacobs and completely fell for its perfect seventies style . . .

colour-blocking2

. . . the day began as a whirlwind and happily slowed down {just a little} with an early morning stop at the farmers' market for apples, honey comb, pecan butter tarts & two of the most enormous, and romantically fragrant bouquets of pink peonies {if you're on twitter, you may have already heard} and somehow we have arrived at wednesday already and there is still much to catch up on, and so many wonderful things to do . . . and of course, a little behind on a million blog posts, and hopefully can complete a few today, including this week's favourite five, and there are so many other beautiful things to tell you . . .

. . . must confess, have been avoiding re-organising the closets for spring & summertime, for it is rather a monumental, somewhat overwhelming task, and shoes seem to be overtaking the place, making mornings quite a flurry, and so, a little inspiration before it begins . . .
