I can't imagine a more wonderful place than New York for ringing in the fall season. These images of Karlie Kloss for the September issue of Vogue Japan certainly bring that dream to life. My favorites from this shoot include the cape in photo one, the shoes in photo seven, and the earrings in photo nine.

Why are weekends always too short? Especially this one! As you can imagine, this weekend was amazing! I got to be reunited with my besties, Kelsey & Lauren and had my first official entertaining gig at my new place! I definitely have the party bug now, y'all! I have so many ideas swirling around in my head about future gatherings!

One of my favorite weekends of the year has finally arrived, and I simply couldn't be happier! For those of you who have a strong bond with your alma mater, you know how special homecoming celebrations can be- the chill in the air, being reunited with friends you haven't seen in a while, laughs shared while tailgating, cheering on the home team to a victory, dressing in a cozy sweater and boots for the first time of the season- it's all so magical!

My best friends are staying with me for the next three days, and my excitement is through the roof! Can't wait to share pictures and memories with you next week.

Falling for H & M

Oh my goodness, happy Friday, my loves!

To kick off this fall weekend I want to share the gorgeous new Conscious Collection from H&M. The deep hues and bold prints are exactly what I'm envisioning for the new pieces I'm adding to my wardrobe for fall and winter. In my opinion, fall and winter are far more fun to dress for than spring and summer. All the layers and the endless possibilities for print mixing give me the extra boost I need on those chilly mornings. Also,  I'm thinking that the bag in last picture would make the perfect go-to, everyday purse for any fall/winter outing.

B's parents are coming into town until Sunday afternoon, then my parents will be here Sunday evening. Need less to say, it's going to be a whirlwind weekend of family love and entertainment!

Simple Fall Decorating

Nothing says fall like colorful, cozy arrangements of mums and pumpkins at one's front door. I love fall decorating probably as much as Christmas. It's much less high maintenance and creates the same warm feeling in your home. This year I simplified my decorations a bit, focusing more on single bold pieces rather than lots of little elements. Overall, I'm thrilled with the results, inside and outside.

(I don't have a lot of room at the front door of my townhouse, but what little room I have, I try to maximize all of its potential.)

(I love to dress up pumpkin stems with fall ribbon- I think it adds the perfect touch. And I've never incorporated purple mums into my outdoor decor until this year, and I love it!)

(My lovely monogram garden flag from Trishy still fits in perfectly with all the orange and yellow. I found a great new wreath this year at TJ Maxx that I just couldn't pass up.)

(This gorgeous jeweled sunflower came from Hobby Lobby and adds just the right amount of sparkle at my entryway.)

(New sunflowers and seasonal candles are staples in my indoor fall decorating.)

(This arrangement of jeweled pumpkins and corks was a complete accident, but I love the way it looks. I filled my two apothecary jars on my buffet with leaf garland this year, for a change.)

(My mantle is always a favorite spot to decorate. This year I chose a very simple arrangement complete with a vase of orange twigs, new glass pumpkins atop my old candle holders, and a fluffy strand of garland.)

(I don't think any decor is complete without fresh seasonal flowers. For the first week of fall, I displayed two pretty purple arrangements on the entry table and the stove top.)

There you have it, simple fall decorating that adds just the right touch of coziness to your abode! I rarely subscribe to the 'less is more' theory, but when it comes to seasonal decor, I even surprise myself!

I haven't shared an update recently on my newly budding romance. While it isn't brand new anymore, it is still budding everyday. Here are a few photos from a friend's wedding we attended a couple weeks ago. I'm such a lucky, lucky girl.
