"who knows where this path will take us but let's go forth hand in hand and promise not to let go because it may lead us somewhere vast & amazing"

*****

. . . trench coats and tartan skirts, kitten heels and argyle sweaters, another autumn weekend is here again, and everywhere, leaves are falling, falling to the last fading rays of golden light, and there are deep coral sunsets and charming pubs with velvet benches to look forward to, apple orchards in the late afternoon and evenings spent lingering by the fireplace, deep in conversation well past midnight . . .

à bientôt / see you soon -- hope you're having a stunningly lovely weekend & that it's beautiful where you are,

. . . while there is undoubtedly a noticeable crispness in the late-september air, the sun still shines brightly and the afternoons are still warm; at home, while quite adore cosy nights in front of the fire, not nearly ready to stow away white bed linens, and so, perhaps best to take things slowly, mixing late-summer and early-autumn in patterns and textures like lace and leopard print . . .

. . . the sonia rykiel fall collection's perfect mix of tweed and satin, wraps and stoles, checks and tartan, along with elegantly lovely side chignons and red lipstick makes one long for the blustery green hills of the highlands and the deep, dark waters of inverness -- perhaps it's time for another beautiful trip to scotland . . .

. . . exceptionally fond of wallpapered backgrounds {& wallpaper in general}, and add to that, 1950's styling, perfectly prim hair and coral lips, and one nearly misses the stunning debut fall/winter 2011 collection by russian photographer turned designer ulyana sergeenko in this beautiful lookbook -- the shimmery & sweeping turquoise tweed skirts paired with sexy sheer knits, and light-as-air ruffles & pleats paired with luxe velvet clutches and crimson heels are a perfect mix of naughty & nice . . .

. . . haven't had a chance to flip through the latest issue of lucky, but already adore this stunning mix of bold and geometric shapes and colours with delicate floral patterns and have also fallen in absolute love with the pink rose wallpaper and am already dreaming of it in the bedroom behind an italian campaign bed and fluttery curtains . . .

. . . while in theory, may love the thought of stepping out in vibrant spring hues, in actuality, much more likely to dash out the door in pale & pretty neutrals . . . and so, was delighted to happen upon a perfect compromise: a crisply tailored white coat accented with an elegantly thin fuchsia belt and pale yellow clutch, or long layers of lace and cool colour-block sandals, or perhaps, floor-length in warm whites, cinched with a perfectly preppy band of kelly green . . .
