{style inspiration: of books & vintage silk scarves}

. . . as books are always on the very verge of overtaking the place, there is nothing to do but to give in, and certainly one more couldn't hurt, could it? . . . and especially if it is the recently published, scarves, by nicky albrechtsen and fola solanke, positively filled with hundreds of beautiful designs and patterns, from balenciaga, to christian lacroix and yves saint laurent . . .

{décor inspiration: a place for everything}

. . . books have been happily taking over since the beginning and there have been many, many {rather ambitious} attempts to corral the madness -- overflowing coffee tables and custom bookcases, built-ins and desk tops -- but not until happening upon this pale & pretty display of titles, has there been anything so perfectly chic . . .

{style inspiration: his & hers}

. . . and after unexpectedly falling for a decidedly masculine black leather sofa a few weeks ago, {juxtaposed, to be certain, against crisp whites and a perfectly ornate mirror}, have been thinking about notions of masculinity and femininity recently, how they interrelate, and most of all, how they can intermingle to create something altogether new and utterly beautiful . . .



















{p.s.} also, first there were the ipad cases, then the charmingly chic luggage tags, and now, also from from etsy, this {fifth from top} impossibly lovely hand-stitched doctor's bag/carry on . . .

{home again & hello}

. . . hello, hello! . . . just in, after a week in paris, home again late yesterday, and today feels like a monday, complete with a very fashionably late start, and after traipsing about nearly completely {& perhaps a little unbelievably} off-line, including facebook, twitter, twitpic, instagram, etc. {somewhat of an accomplishment over workaholic tendencies}, it's back to business with over 1,000 things unread in google reader and nearly 2,000 email messages . . . and with travel cases filled with party dresses, lacy skirts and pretty shoes barely unpacked . . . for now, a few moments to catch up and to catch my breath . . .

. . . hello again! . . . after a luxuriously relaxing weekend, it's a beautiful new week, and you may have remembered, a million years ago, shortly before the holidays, there was a lovely give-away for a glittering and impossibly elegant crystal necklace, and in the flurry of fairy lights and falling snow, hadn't a chance to find out who the winner is until now . . . and so, utterly delighted to announce that the winner is . . . rachel in rome, italy . . .
