Tag- I'm IT!

One of my absolute favorite bloggers, MCW, tagged me for a fun little game of tag. Since I adore her (and am putting off my drafting exercise for Int'l Arbitration) I decided to give it a go.

The rules: MCW gave me 8 questions to answer. I answer them, come up with 8 more, and tag other bloggers to answer MY 8 questions (etc. etc. etc.)

MCW's questions:

1. What were you like in high school?

Hmm. This is a good question! I guess I was a lot like I am now, but a lot less mature. I was a combination of geeky & popular. Geeky because I was in band (marching & concert band... Was section leader and Pres of my Music Dept my senior year. Yes. That's how I roll.) but popular because despite that I had a lot of friends. I wasn't super cool, but I tried to be nice to people and therefore people were nice to me too!

2. If you could bring one clothing style back what would it be?

I would bring back the entire 1950's clothing era. I love the style of clothes, I love the way women looked in the clothes, I love that women had curvy bodies and the clothes reflected it. I also just love the formality of yonder years when women mainly stuck to dresses, cardigans, skirts, and pedal pushers and men to suits and nice sweaters and slacks. PB bought me two dresses this summer and both are 1950's-esq. They are so pretty and flattering... I have NO idea why this style went out but I'm going to single-handedly bring it back if it kills me!

3. Do you have a green thumb?

Yes and No. Generally, yes. I love to grow flowers and have been successful at my mother's abode but for some dang reason I can't seem to keep anything alive in my apartment. I think it is because my apartment is fairly humid and perhaps is a little too warm to grow indoor stuff? No idea. It is so weird!

4. What is one thing you would love to do if you came to NYC?

Well I do come to NYC about 2/3 times a year... BUT one thing I love to do and rarely get a chance to is to go to the Central Park Zoo. It's SO fun and I've only been once. I'd also love to rent bikes and just bike around Central Park and see it all! (And eat lots and lots and lots and lots and LOTS of city-water hot dogs.)

5. One is one thing we would do if I came to visit you?

Just ONE?! We would definitely have to do a Duck Boat Tour. I've been on two and I think they are fantastic for non-native Bostonians. They are fun, interactive and you learn a lot about Boston and the history. You also get to see almost every part of the city!

6. If you HAD to decided between having a beautiful face or an amazing body which would you choose, and why?

Face! 100%. Why? Because I can lose weight and craft an amazing body, but an ugly face is forever. (I mean unless you're willing to do some hardcore plastic surgery... which I most certainly would, but I like my face.) Also I feel like a beautiful face can totally negate a not so hot body but I don't feel like a hot body can negate a heinous face.

7. Are you more like your mom or your dad?

My mom.

8. Is there something about yourself that you hide from people when you first meet them?

I tried to hide my sarcasm and my weird way of speaking. I have the WORST habit of using ghetto-fab slang constantly. I was so proud of myself this summer because I managed to contain it 99% of the time... Except when I taught my barrister what the expression "Flip her shit" means. As in "The judge was so mad I thought she was going to flip her shit at you too!" That conversation was absolutely hilarious!

My 8 questions:

1. If you had a theme song that played whenever you walked into a room, what would it be?
2. George or Brad, and why?
3. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
4. What is the strangest question you've ever been asked?
5. Where is your favorite place to sit in a movie theater?
6. On a plane- Are you a chatter or do you do everything humanely possible not to have to interact with anyone?
7. If you could bring back one TV show from your childhood, what show would it be?
8. What is the first thing you think people notice about you?

Tagged bloggers: Anyone who is READING THIS! I've gotten into a blog rut and I just keep reading the same blogs over and over. If you are reading this please do it and then leave me a comment so I can find your blog! (Also, if you have any suggestions for fun new blogs, let me know!)

Go ahead. You know you want to play...

DO IT!

Tag Time!

My fellow blogger and bff HFG tagged me on her blog with this fun TAG! I thought it'd be super fun to play along!

Favorite color: PINK! (Agreed!)

Favorite Brands/Designers: Love Michael Kors, Lilly, Marc Jacobs & Oscar de la Renta

Favorite Restaurant: SOOOO many... Crooks Corner (in NC), 4th Street Deli (in PA), Toscano (in Boston), Momofuku (in NYC), Lady & Sons (in Savannah)... I could go on and on and on and on...

Hobbies: Cooking, baking, reading, playing tennis, blogging, volunteering, politics, etc.

Favorite thing about yourself: My favorite thing about myself is that I am super opinionated and not afraid to be exactly who I am regardless of what others think of me and my opinions!

What does your room look like (color scheme, theme, etc.): I LOVE my room! I have massively high ceilings, a brick wall behind my bed, platform bed. My bedding is simple and cute- white duvet w/ my monogram in pink in the center and a green pearl border, pink quilt and shams are also on there. Also my favorite Hillary poster framed on the wall beside my bed that has her and says "She's the one!" in shades of pink. Wait, did I mention I like pink?

If you could have dinner with 2 people (dead or alive) who would they be: Queen of England and Audrey Hepburn. We know I'm obsessed with the queen and Audrey needs no explanation... I mean really.

What is your next “big splurge”: Hmm. Since I've been preparing for this wedding I've been trying super hard not to spend money... HOWEVER... there is this certain bag I may or may not be lusting over. My grades were absolutely STELLAR this semester... so mmmaaayyybbbeee a new bag!

What is your favorite joke, quote, or saying: Favorite saying "Bless her heart" and favorite quote "If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me!"

Anything else you would like us to know about you (random fact)!? I used to be obsessed with Dolly Parton. I was a member of her fan club when I was little and we went to the opening day of Dollywood one April specifically because she was in the opening day parade. I saw her and stood there and cried the entire time because I was so overwhelmed! I still, to this day, LOVE her and get excited whenever she is on anything!

Now it is time to tag six fellow bloggers to answer the above questions! Each person that is tagged must tag six new bloggers. Be sure to link to the person that originally tagged you and comment on their TAG post so they can read your answers.

Preppy Mafia Tag!

So I've been graced by the beautiful BLC and Sara with the Preppy Mafia tag! Thanks girlies!

*Blogger's not letting me upload the Preppy Mafia Picture but y'all get the idea*

Who is your favorite style icon? Audrey Hepburn & Jackie O

What is your favorite socialite book? I'm really into the Adele Park's books. She's british and Paul keeps feeding my addiction. (On the cruise I read a 685 page book in 24 hours.)

Favorite theme party? Um... I'd have to say a luau/fiesta! (Mainly for the fun cocktails)

Go to Halloween costume? Black kitten. Meow!

Extravagance you cannot live without? Lipgloss and manicures

Living persons you admire? Hillary Clinton and my Nannie (update- And my mom. She did an amazing job raising me all on her own.)

Greatest fear? Not being able to have a baby.

Trait you deplore in yourself? I have a SUPER fiery temper. I tend to blow up quickly and do NOT keep my opinions to myself. This can often get me into trouble! Am working on it.

What talent do you covet? Painting. I think it would be amazing to paint!

Greatest achievement? LSAT, law school, etc. (Agreed BLC!)

Five MUST Haves!

Sweet Hopsy at Monograms & Manicures tagged me to list 5 things that I can't leave home without. So here we go... My 5!

1. Blackberry! Between emails, BBMs, twitter, etc I am constantly on my BB. It's a problem to the point that my 'berry dies at least once a day so I've taken to also carrying my charger with me (not pictured.)
2. Engagement ring! I've been engaged for just over a year and I can honestly say that I have yet to take my ring off for more than like 5 minutes. In reality it is just because I'm scared of losing it. :) Although, actually, I lie. I took it off last year right after we got engaged because my fingers swelled and ended up going to Brussels without it! I was heartbroken for the week we were there. Since then, however, it has  NEVER been off my finger. I realize this is silly, but I'm still madly in love with my ring and I don't care who knows it!

3. Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss! I have a slight lip gloss addiction and this is my favorite. I always have some in my purse, in my law school tote and usually floating around my gym bag. These are pricey but I stock up in duty free every time I fly! (Side note- I think they stopped making my favorite color, "Satinette" which is sooo sad.)

4. Tweezers! I have a serious obsession. I have at least 15 pairs scattered all over Boston, New Hampshire and London. If I can't find a pair or I forget to bring them, I immediately have to buy new ones. Ask PB... He watched me buy no less than 5 pairs in England over the summer.

5. Fruit and my water bottle! I know this seems odd, but I must carry fruit and my water bottle at all times. I drink copious amount of water and get borderline panicky if I don't have my bottle. I also get hungry every 2 to 3 hours and I have found that the best snack for me is apples and bananas. I usually carry 2 apples and a banana with me all the time just in case!

TAG, bloggers below, you're it!
I'm dying to see what 5 things you can't leave home without!
