Dreaming of Dresses!

With the holidays around the corner, and more exciting, my upcoming trip to LA, I've been looking online and getting really excited about dresses! So many events and dinners coming up and the shopping will be divine in LA I'm sure!!! Here are a few that I'm currently lusting after, starting with my absolute favorite:

Lauren by Ralph Lauren at Nordstrom

Calvin Klein at Nordstrom

Cache

J. Crew

Express

Looking forward to picking up a few new pieces for the season!

Seeing Double - Part II

Back in July I posted about my annoyance with Modcloth - even though admittedly I shop their site and purchase occasionally. In a nut shell, I often see things on ModCloth for sale that I have seen on some of my other fave online apparel sites - identical items - but ModCloth always has their 'version' marked up at least $20 more than the other site.

So even when I do shop at ModCloth I'm always wondering if I'm secretly being ripped off because they are marking the prices up so high.

Today I found yet another example - identical booties on ModCloth's site and on GoJane.com - but ModCloth's version is...yup...$20 more.

Why ModCloth??
ModCloth's Version - $39.99

GoJane's version - $19.95

Cute Gift Ideas for Teen & Tween Girls

My two nieces had birthdays this week and they're getting older, reaching early teen and tween status and it's kind of difficult to find things that aren't too old, but aren't too young for them. However, they take after their aunti and are soooo girly! They love fun products so I knew they'd enjoy a little internet purchase from Sephora! With Christmas just less than 10 weeks away, I figure it's never too early to start sharing ideas and shopping for holiday gifts!

The youngest turned 12 and is not really into make-up just yet, beyond the occasional flavored lipgloss, but I knew she'd enjoy this Party Girl bath set from Philosophy including Bling-Tini, Tan-Tini and Tini Tini String Bikini flavored shower gels/shampoos/bubble baths. They are actually apple, bellini and pomegranate flavored! YUM!!! And for my older niece who is turning 14 and just starting to really get into make-up, I picked up this darling gift box by Benefit called Celebutante!

Here's a close-up of the inside:

It also comes with a step-by-step lesson, which is great for a young girl who's just learning and getting interested! And it's appropriate. I found other sets that were the good colors or really cute, but they had colors like "Fame Whore" or the fabulous Nars blush in "Orgasm" but I can't give that to a 14 year old?!?!?! ICK!!! And it caused me to notice that I won't be able to share my favorite blush with my nieces till they're 60 and old enough to learn what Orgasm means... sad!

Something I learned as well about shopping at Sephora online is that I got to pick loads of free samples to include as well, so my sister and her girls will be rolling in face creams, primers and perfume that I selected for them to try! How Fun!?!?!

A few reasons why I love Forever21...

My go to shoe Web site...

Even though it's still in the 90's here in Charleston - I'm starting to eye the newest trends for Fall shoes... like these boots from Anthropologie that I've been loving for some time now... {drool}...

But I just can't fork out the money for these boots...so unfair they are so expensive. :*(

But I want to share a retail site with you I've been shopping for some time - GoJane.com. I love their shoes - they are super affordable and decent quality for the price. And each style comes in a variety of colors!

Here are some styles I've been eying. I originally balked at the whole bootie trend because I'm so short - but I've changed my mind and I'm really digging them now. I think some of these would be so cute with skirts and opaque tights.

Lunchtime Post

Did a little shopping during work for some new workout shoes - mine were not cutting it and left me feeling crippled after every workout! With these new Nike Shox+ VII's I think I can work out harder, faster and longer! Here's hoping!!!

Hope you're all having a great week! Back to work for me now!

Christy's Closet - Shoes

I have a problem - it's called online shopping, and I do a lot of it. I'm working on curtailing this vice of mine and with overflowing closets, I recently did a massive purge...

I took a huge bin of my gently worn clothes to Uptown Cheapskates - and they took more than half of it and paid me only $76. I can't be too upset with that though because I went in there knowing it would be that bad...but...I still made a little bit of cash, the clothes are off my hands, and the clothes they didn't take went to Goodwill.

I did, however, keep the nice items that I've either only worn once, or never worn at all - i.e. tags still attached (like I said... I have a problem....another post, another time) - to try and sell myself.

I've seen other bloggers sell their items on their blogs and thought I'd give it a try - seriously this stuff is brand new, take advantage of my online shopping habit.

I'm going to do a flat shipping rate of $5 for all items. If you live in Charleston, we can meet up if it's easier and I can just hand them to you if you want to save $5. Just email me and let me know... :)

Today's Category will be Shoes... these are all never worn, like sat in a shoe box in my closet since I bought them.

Orange Wedge sandals from Wet Seal - Size 7
Size 7, Never Worn, Price Tag still attached (originally $26.50)
Selling for $12

Khaki Peep Toe Platform - Size 6.5
Size 6.5, Never Worn, in original box (originally about $30)
Selling for $12

Dark brown, side ruffle knee high boots - Size 7
Size 7, Never Worn (originally about $40)
Selling for $25

Brown almost knee high boots - Size 7
Size 7, Never Worn, Price tag still attached (originally $34.80)
Selling for $20

Khaki sweater boots w/ poms - Size 7
Size 7, Never Worn, Price tag still attached (originally $26.80)
Selling for $12

JCrew navy strap wedges - Size 7*
I bought these in a size 7, but never wore them because they fit more like a narrow size 7 -- so if you have narrow feet or a smaller foot (size 6.5 or less), then these shoes will be perfect for you. Never Worn. I can't remember what I spent on them.
Selling for $25

DVF's First Anniversary in Bostonia!

Since I am not able to attend this fabulous event and snatch up a new belt or sunglasses with the 20% off discount, I hope some of you lovely Boston readers will be able to take advantage of it!

If you can't make it to the event you should still take a look at Diane Von Furstenburg's online store at the gorgeous line of accessories!

Tell me all about the event and the fun treats you all pick up.

Make me JEALOUS!

Well if I wasn't a fan of Lily Pulitzer...

...I must be now. You should have seen me...sweating, stomach hurting, anxious...my finger on my mouse button, my mouse pointer on the browser refresh button, my browser on Rue La La... my eyes staring, not blinking, at the clock on the bottom of my computer. 10:59 AM. "Come on...come on...come on..."

Lily Pulitzer on Rue La La today.

11:00 AM.

Refresh..... nothing. Refresh.... nothing.

Refresh........ still nothing. "Come on!"

Refresh.......... Lily Pulitzer Boutique - open.

Click on Lily image, click 'View All', scroll down and find my goal.. this beauty...

Click dress. Click size. Click 'Quick Buy Now'. Move mouse pointer with speed and dexterity to 'Purchase'... Click...........................

"We're sorry this item has sold out". Seconds people, seconds. Seriously. "Waaaaah!"

No time to sulk! Must. buy. other. dresses.

Click. Buy. Click. Buy. Click. Buy. Click. Buy.

I took on Rue La La's Lily Pulitzer sale like someone who was buying for her life. I also took it on like I evidently have a bazillion dollars...which is anything but...sigh.

Here's my treasure trove of Lily I luckily snagged today.... thoughts?

And maybe I have immature taste, but I really wanted some of the little girl styles... how cute are these dresses and skirts?? A 20-something could totally pull these looks off, right? right? Oh well... it's not like I hovered over the largest size of one with my mouse, almost convincing myself I was petite enough to squeeze into it {eyes dart to right with look of guilt}.

Did anyone else shop the Lily sale on Rue La La? What did you get? Did you get the dress I originally wanted and now you want to give it to me out of the kindness of your heart? ;)

Great new Anthro sale items!

It's like Christmas when Anthropologie moves new items to their Sale section. I get sucked in every time. Today though, they've got some really adorable new sale items that are definitely worth the price.

I snagged up...
This will be so cute paired with navy shorts and my Old Navy wedges.

I love this dress, especially with my recent nautical obsession. I'm just hoping the horizontal stripes don't make me look more horizontal - especially in the back!

At first glance, I wasn't crazy about this dress - but after reading the reviews and staring at it, I concluded that it's very pretty and very me. Hoping I still think that when I try it on in person.

Hooray for Anthro sales - and I got free shipping because I signed up for the Anthro club through this link off of one of my fave Anthro blogs, Effortless Anthropologie.

Did you score any recent Anthro sale finds?
