Girls, just wanna have fu-uuuun!!

So last night I met up with some of my favorite bloggers for cocktails. Black Lab & Lilly, Pink Maple and KAG were all DELIGHTFUL! We had great cocktails at Marliave and spent some cals on a little welsh rarebit (which was delish). It was a blast! I honestly feel like I have known them forever.

*SO CUTE! PM on the left, BL&L on the right*

*KAG & Me*
(In my defense my dress was tulip shaped and when I sat down it bubbled up. Turns out its not so flattering sitting. Don't judge me people.)

I really had a great time and can't wait until we meet up again!
Thanks girls!

Tomorrow: Review of the Connaught's Tea Room in London!

Accent Vlog!

So I joined in the fun and decided to participate in the Accent Vlog that a lot of bloggers are doing right now! I'm sorry if I'm a complete weirdo but it was super fun and I think you ALL should participate! If you do please leave a comment with a link to your blog so I can go watch!

The instructions were to say the following words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

So... tell me... Do I have a discernible accent?

Blog-REDO!

Well as you can see, BP:PD has had a revamp. I'm going to futz (is this a real word or is it just one that I've made up?) around with it more tonight and should hopefully have a more streamlined fun blog by the weekend!

HUGE thanks to my bestie Hopsy for re-doing my header for me! I need to make it a little bigger and I want to rearrange some things and change my blogroll, but it looks SO precious already!

What do you all think of the new look?

Now that I've played with my blog a little, cleaned the kitchen, and gotten dressed, I suppose I should go hit the gym! I have plenty of posts lined up for the rest of the week so stay tuned! My apologies for the lack of new posts this week. We've been SO busy!

Also. I had a cupcake disaster yesterday. First time in my life I screwed up cupcakes. Martha would be SO ashamed of me!!!

You know this means I'll be baking a new batch tonight and so HELP them if they have the audacity to come out badly again! I really blame the oven and not my over-measuring the flour. Shh. It's definitely the oven's fault.

Ok. I'm off... Let's see how many lunges I can do today before I collapse!

Summertime in England!

I am finally here in the land of tea and crumpets... both of which I had for breakfast, interestingly enough!

I landed around 7:30PM last night and we headed straight to McDonald's for a fancy dinner of Big Macs and Coke zeros (Clearly PB knows how to show a girl a good time!) Perfect! I literally had NOT slept Wednesday night before my flight so I was really tired and passed out while we were watching Shakespeare in Love, which I haven't seen in forever. I slept until around 6AM, which was IMPRESSIVE! Then we got up and PB fixed breakfast and started work (he works from home when he's not traveling.) I took a shower and sat down to do a blog post and fell asleep for about 3 hours. I guess I was more tired than I realized!

So today I'm going to unpack everything and get organized. We have a really exciting weekend in London planned. On Saturday we're going to dinner at Clos Maggiore and then we have 3rd row, center tickets to see Chicago. We're staying in the city and then Sunday we'll go to Harrod's (and maybe I can talk PB into taking me to the London Eye, which I still haven't been up in) and then we'll be heading back to Reading. Monday I'm going to start this huge project that I still have outstanding for Trusts and Estates. I'm going to try to pound it out in one week, so I can edit until June 7th when it's due.

Sorry I've been absent! I was crazy busy with exams and packing. Now that I'm in England and almost done with school stuff (stupid project) I'll be back to blogging more frequently!

Preppy Mafia Tag!

So I've been graced by the beautiful BLC and Sara with the Preppy Mafia tag! Thanks girlies!

*Blogger's not letting me upload the Preppy Mafia Picture but y'all get the idea*

Who is your favorite style icon? Audrey Hepburn & Jackie O

What is your favorite socialite book? I'm really into the Adele Park's books. She's british and Paul keeps feeding my addiction. (On the cruise I read a 685 page book in 24 hours.)

Favorite theme party? Um... I'd have to say a luau/fiesta! (Mainly for the fun cocktails)

Go to Halloween costume? Black kitten. Meow!

Extravagance you cannot live without? Lipgloss and manicures

Living persons you admire? Hillary Clinton and my Nannie (update- And my mom. She did an amazing job raising me all on her own.)

Greatest fear? Not being able to have a baby.

Trait you deplore in yourself? I have a SUPER fiery temper. I tend to blow up quickly and do NOT keep my opinions to myself. This can often get me into trouble! Am working on it.

What talent do you covet? Painting. I think it would be amazing to paint!

Greatest achievement? LSAT, law school, etc. (Agreed BLC!)

Film Festival: 5 Favorite Flicks!

My favorite bestie BLC over at The Company She Keeps tagged me to list my 5 favorite movies of all time. Those who know me know that I'm a movie fanatic. I go to the cinema at least once a week usually (I've not been in about a month! Eek. Must remedy!) and if I have a free evening I almost always pop in a DVD to watch.

Since I have a TON of favorite movies, I'll take a page out of BLC's book and do categories. Here we go:

  • Childhood Musts: Beauty & The Beast, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins (Clearly I love me some Julie Andrews.)
  • Chick-Flicks: Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, Bridget Jones Diary (& sequel), Gone with the Wind, A Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady (i.e. Anything with Audrey.)
  • (Soon-to-Be) Husband Approved: All the Jason Bourne Movies, Brief Encounter, The Talented Mr. Ripley, An Education, The Young Victoria
  • Sandra Bullock Favs (Yes. She gets her own category.): A Time to Kill, Speed, The Net, Miss Congeniality (& sequel), Practical Magic, Two Weeks Notice, The Proposal, Crash. (Can we tell who my favorite actress is?!)
  • Holiday: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Smokey-Mountain Christmas (What, it has DOLLY in it!!), A Christmas Carol.
I tag ALL OF YOU! To play along, leave a comment with your 5 favorite flicks (if you can narrow them down to five.)

I will probably be a bad blogger this week... It's MPRE time and I have to focus on that this week. MUST PASS!! I'll blog when I can!!

WEDDING COUNTDOWN: 1 WEEK & 6 DAYS!

I'm BACK!

I've been in Austin, Texas for a few days longer than planned. I went with PB for the weekend because he had his company's annual meeting. Austin was cute and much larger than I expected!

I spent Monday with HFG. We had SUCH a great time! We became blog/BBM friends over a year ago and meeting her in person finally was even better! I felt as if I'd known her forever! We had lunch at Bess Bistro, which is Sandra Bullock's restaurant. It was delicious and we had a blast (Even if Sandy wasn't there to greet us). After lunch we walked around Austin for a bit, shopped at the Domain (where I discovered that Lilly Pulitzer does NOT make dresses to fit my body shape!) and then headed to the Four Seasons, where PB treated us to Champagne Tea.

*HFG was so thoughtful and brought me a gift bag from her party with one of the gorgeous Tory Burch cookies!*

I was supposed to leave Tuesday but it "snowed" in Austin. And by "snowed" I mean it flurried for about 20 minutes and apparently JetBlue ran out of deicing fluid so they cancelled every single flight for the rest of the day. I was FURIOUS! Not only were they lying to the passengers and trying to claim it was because the weather was so bad (please note there was LITERALLY no snow) but they failed to change the status of the flights in the terminal, and if it hadn't been for HFG getting an email about it accidentally and BBMing me, I would have been sitting in the terminal for hours longer! They refused to put me on another airline and then they tried to tell me that they could not get me on a flight until Friday. Oh, and they would not reimburse for the $75 in cab rides to/from the airport, or another night in a hotel. At that point I absolutely hit the roof! How ridiculous is that!? I raised my voice and stated that it was absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous and I would not settle for that remedy. After my blow up they managed to "find" me a seat on a Thursday morning flight to JFK. I've never been so angry at an airline! The other crazy thing was NO OTHER PASSENGERS WERE UPSET! Maybe this is the Yankee in me, but I was seething and the Texans were like "Ohhhhh, ok. No problem, I don't mind waiting until Friday."

So anyway... I'm back, I'm grumpy, and I have a to-do list from hell.

But HOW ARE Y'ALL!?

Check back tomorrow for a post about this amazing jewelry designer based in Austin I discovered.
